VSO Nepal and Universal Learning Solutions, in collaboration with the Nepal Ministry of Education, piloted Jolly Phonics in 10 government primary schools in the Makwanpur district of Nepal, from April 2014 to March 2015.

Despite the evaluation report demonstrating that Jolly Phonics had a positive impact on learners' literacy skills, the programme has yet to be scalled to more schools in the country.
